Global Health through Education, Training and Service (GHETS)
GHETS supports a variety of health initiatives that are designed and implemented with the expertise of local health and development professionals. We understand that health is affected by a variety of factors, and trust that local experts have the best sense of their communities’ needs. Our role is to distribute seed grants and provide follow-up monitoring and evaluation support to our project partners.
1) Women’s and Community Health: We fund training programs and community-based outreach initiatives that address a variety of health issues, including sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, and gender-based violence issues.
2) Occupational and Environmental Health: We support a broad spectrum of occupational and environmental health projects, including worker safety and community education initiatives.
3) Training and Capacity Building: As a partner of medical institutions in Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia, we fund curricula development projects, faculty exchange and training projects, as well as projects seeking to improve primary care.- See more at: http://www.ghets.org/projects/#sthash.WwCEQ9ZO.dpuf
